July 2026 Magnet Club: Rocket Pop

The World’s Most Patriotic Popsicle.

It turns out I hadn’t had one of these in a very long time. I know this because as soon as I tasted it, I was hurtled back in time about 25 years. It was like a movie, complete with flashbacks of riding bikes through the neighborhood streets, running through sprinklers to cool down, and waiting for the sky to finally darken enough for the fireworks show.

Depending on where you’re from, you might know them as Bomb Pops, but as a west coaster we knew them as Rocket Pops.

It’s not hard to see why I chose this summer treat for the July magnet. The red, white, and blue is a perfect fit for what’s likely our most patriotic month here in the US. I know that despite the widespread America 250 celebrations, many of us may not be feeling super patriotic at the moment (I mean, have you seen the news lately?). But still, there’s something special about remembering how it felt to be a kid on the 4th of July, when the whole country was one big party, full of sparklers and cold popsicles when the heat hit its peak. This month’s magnet is all about taking a moment to enjoy a sweet treat and remember those special summer moments.
